All systems are designed to be installed with existing or added standard water heating tanks.  No tanks are included with these system prices. In general, systems should be sized to have a minimum of 1 gallon of storage per sq. / ft. of collector area.   Systems 1, 2 and 3 are open-loop systems, meaning that they heat the water that is used throughout the house.  Systems 4 and 5 are closed-loop glycol systems with heat exchangers, which is essential in areas that freeze.
If you are in a freeze-prone climate and you are not sure which system to install, order a SYSTEM 5.

Please feel free to call with any questions, toll-free: (877) 713-7858

All Kits come with:

  • Installation Manual and Owners Manual.
  • One (or more) Fireball solar panel(s)
  • a 6’ sample section of insulation
  • 50’ roll of ½” OD soft copper
  • compression unions
  • 25’ of wire
  • tec screws
  • washers
  • lags

System 4
"Quad Rod"
Complete Freeze Protection

System 4: (110 Volt AC) Complete Freeze Protection using “QUAD ROD” Pre soldered Thermosyphon Heat Exchanger with Expansion Tank, charging valves, Check valve, and all Connections (in place of "Quick Connect)

Includes:

  • 110V line cord Taco 006 Circulator
  • Line Cord Differential Control with 2 sensors
  • collector pressure relief valve
  • 4' "Quad Rod"
Food grade “Sierra” or equal antifreeze not supplied.
Note: 4 Collector system comes with 4' Quad Rod" and requires a minimum of an 80 Gallon side TPRV tank.
This system is for total collector freeze protection (-54F) in hard freeze areas. Requires that your existing storage tank have a side mounted pressure relief valve or that a storage tank with a side mounted pressure relief valve be added.  Where a side TPRV tank is not available the tank can be raised 18" and the Quad Rod dropped to the floor to facilitate adequate thermosyphon action. If the electric elements are not needed, the Quad Rod can use the top element hole. Some soldering is required to connect the Quad Rod to the Tank. A 2 collector minimum is recommended.

Options:

For Photovoltaic Power to replace 110 Volt circulator and Differential Controller with sensors (includes special PV Panel Mounting kit and 25' of 12 volt HD wire, ElSid circulator for 1C and 2C or March or Hartel circulator for 3C and 4C) :  21 Watt PV Panel (PV21): $220.00
