    All systems are designed to be installed with existing or added standard water heating tanks. They are designed to connect to any existing hot water tank.
No tanks are included with these system prices. In general, systems should be sized to have a minimum of 1 gallon of storage per sq./ ft. of collector area.   Systems 1, 2 and 3 are open-loop systems, meaning that they heat the water that is used throughout the house.  These systems are not designed for freezing conditions.  If there is a freeze, these systems must be drained prior to the freeze.  There are freeze-protective options available and recommended, but they are designed for short-term cold spells only.  If you are not sure which system to get, order the System 3 with all the features.  Figure one panel for every 2-3 people.

All Kits come with:

  • 50’ roll of ½” OD soft copper

System 1

System 1 is for use in completely non-freeze areas.
Can be used in freeze areas when collector is fully drained before freeze.

Options:

  • FV01, Freeze Valve Option For Light Passive freeze protection to 30F, FULLY DRAIN BEFORE HARD FREEZE. (FV01): $65.00
  • FS02, 40F Freeze Snap Switch (closes at 40F to turn on El Sid Pump for Recirculation* LIGHT freeze protection)  (FS02): $30.00
  • For Photovoltaic Power to replace transformer (includes special PV Panel Mounting kit) 1C, 2C and 3C Retail: 11 Watt Panel  (PV11): $160.00
  • 4C Retail: 21 Watt Panel (PV21): $220.00
  • FS03, For PV Panel Recirculation* Freeze protection, includes 40F Freeze Snap Switch with 25' wire and 110V to 12VDC Transformer for a higher level of Freeze Protection in light freeze areas (FS03): $ 95.00
  • DT02, Deletes FS03 Transformer when 12V power or a PV system with batteries is already available ($15.00)


System 2

System 2  is recommended for a higher level of efficiency in variable weather conditions.
For use in completely non-freeze or light freeze areas.
System 2 can be used in freeze areas when collector is fully drained before freeze.

Includes:

  • 110 Volt AC Circulator with Line Cord
  • Recirculation Differential Control, including line cord and 2 high quality sensors (deletes 12 Volt Pump, snap switch and transformer)
  • “Easy Connect” Kit to existing or added water heater with shut off and drain valves (bottom connect is standard, top connect is available at no extra charge)
  • Collector Pressure Relief Valve.
NOTE: *Recirculation freeze protection is used extensively in mild weather conditions where temperatures occasionally dips below freezing to as low as 20F for a few hours. System 3: SRCC
These systems are Performance Certified

SRCC OG300 Rated System 3 Fireball 20013; 1C50, 2C50, 3C50 and 3C80
(SRCC = Solar Rating and Certification Corporation) TANK NOT INCLUDED
These systems are Performance Certified when installed to SRCC OG300 Specifications and tank sizes. When properly installed and maintained, these systems meet the minimum standards established by SRCC. The SRCC certification does not imply endorsement or Warranty of this product by SRCC.

Includes:

  • 12 Volt DC ElSid or Hartel Circulator
  • 11 or 21 Watt PV Panel Including mounting hardware. Two-collector maximum for 11 Watt PV Panel. For a 3-collector system use a 21 watt PV panel
  • “Easy Connect” Kit with shut off, drain valves, 2 thermometers, pump switch (bottom connect is standard, top connect is available at no extra charge)
  • Collector Pressure Relief Valve with splash guard
  • Mixing Valve (Tempering Valve)
  • Installation Manual, Owners Manual and labels.
System 3 is for use in completely non-freeze areas. Can be used in freeze areas when collector is fully drained before freeze.
SRCC Reoriented Tilt systems require Parallel flow collectors, (PFL1 or PFR1) to facilitate drainage at an extra charge of $40 per collector. Contact factory for help with this option.
